This morning i opened the newspapers to find that Najib Tun Razak has condemned employers that specifcy mandarin as a requirement for certain jobs as “discrimininatory”. My immediate reaction was “WHAT??!!”
An article from a Harvard Malaysian who highlights that a ‘Mandarin-speaking preferred’ policy employed by some firms in Malaysia should not necessarily be misconstrued as one of racist nature.
